DCB Bank rises after Q4 PAT climbs 14% YoY to Rs 177 cr

Total income increased 24.03% to Rs 1,960.71 crore in Q4 FY25 as against Rs 1580.82 crore in Q4 FY24. Profit before tax (PBT) jumped 13.6% YoY to Rs 238.18 crore in Q4 FY25. Net interest income (NII) climbed 9.84% to Rs 558 crore during the quarter as compared with Rs 508 crore posted in corresponding quarter last year. Deposits stood at Rs 60,031 crore as of 31st March 2025, registering the growth of 21.64% as compared with Rs 49,353 crore as of 31st March 2024. Net advances grew 22.67% year on year to Rs 51,047 crore in Q4 FY25. As of 31st March 2025, CASA ratio was at 24.25% as against 26.02% as of 31st March 2024. Gross non-performing assets (NPA) stood at Rs 1,554.43 crore as on 31st March 2025 as compared with Rs 1,353.47 crore as on 31st March 2024. Gross NPA ratio reduced to 2.99% in Q4 FY25 as compared with 3.23% in Q4 FY24. Net NPA ratio rose at 1.12% in Q4 FY25 as compared with 1.11% posted in the same quarter previous year. The Provision Coverage Ratio (PCR) as on March 31, 2025 was at 74.48% and PCR without considering Gold Loans NPAs was at 75.22%. Capital Adequacy continues to be strong and as on March 31, 2025, the Capital Adequacy Ratio was at 16.77% (with Tier I at 14.30% and Tier II at 2.47% as per Basel III norms). On financial year basis, the bank's net profit increased 14.81% to Rs 615.33 crore in FY25 as compared with Rs 535.97 crore in FY24. Total income jumped 23.73% to Rs 7,221.10 crore in FY25 as compared with Rs 5,836.28 crore in FY24. Praveen Kutty, managing director & CEO said, 'The growth momentum continues to be robust across both advances and deposits. NIM is stabilizing and fee income continues to grow consistently. Productivity gains are reflected in the improving cost efficiency. We are happy to see the consistency in the improvement of portfolio quality despite the challenges posed by the environment. We expect that the measures we have taken will further improve these trends in the times to come.' Meanwhile, the bank's board recommended a dividend of Rs 1.35 per share of face value of Rs 10 each subject to approval of the Shareholders at the ensuing Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Bank and other requisite approvals, if any. The dividend will be paid/despatched within the prescribed time, post approval of the Shareholders. Further, the bank's board approved the resolution for fund raising through the issuance of debt securities including unsecured redeemable non-convertible subordinated basel III compliant Tier II Bonds up to Rs 500 crore (with green shoe option) by way of private placement in one or more tranches during the period of one year from the conclusion of the 30th Annual General Meeting of the Bank, subject to approval of the shareholders of the Bank and any other regulatory approvals, as may be required under the applicable laws. Furthermore, the board proposed to the members at the ensuing Annual General Meeting, for raising of funds up to Rs 750 crore by way of issue of equity shares / other securities convertible into equity shares through Qualified Institutions Placement, as may be required by the Bank from time to time, subject to approval of the Shareholders and other approvals, if any, as may be required under the applicable laws / regulations. Benchmarks under pressure; IT shares slide

The key equity benchmarks traded with substantial losses in the mid-morning trade as foreign outflows and mixed earnings dampened sentiment. Concerns over the Union Budget 2025 and Trump's 25% tariff on Colombian goods added to market jitters. The Nifty traded below the 22,900 level. IT shares witnessed profit booking after advancing in the past three consecutive trading sessions. At 11:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, declined 639.26 points or 0.84% to 75,551.20. The Nifty 50 index fell 200.95 points or 0.87% to 22,891.25. The broader market underperformed the frontline indices. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index fell 2.46% and the S&P BSE Small-Cap index slipped 3.56%. The market breadth was weak. On the BSE, 492 shares rose and 3,418 shares fell. A total of 148 shares were unchanged. Economy: India's forex reserves dropped by $1.88 billion to $623.983 billion in the week ended January 17, the RBI said on Friday. The forex reserves had increased to an all-time high of $704.885 billion in end-September. For the week ended January 17, foreign currency assets, a major component of the reserves, decreased by $2.878 billion to $533.133 billion, the data released on Friday showed. Gold reserves increased by $1.063 million to $68.947 billion during the week. The special drawing rights (SDRs) were up by $01 million to $17.782 billion, the RBI said. India's reserve position with the IMF was down by $74 million at $4.122 billion in the reporting week, the data showed. Buzzing Index: The Nifty IT index declined 2.13% to 42,596.55. The index rallied 2.16% in past three consecutive trading sessions. Persistent Systems (down 3.63%), LTIMindtree (down 3.35%), L&T Technology Services (down 2.83%), Wipro (down 2.78%), HCL Technologies (down 2.72%), Coforge (down 2.71%), Tech Mahindra (down 2.65%), Tata Consultancy Services (down 2.19%), Infosys (down 1.82%) and Mphasis (down 1.58%). Stocks in Spotlight: DCB Bank rallied 4.23% after the bank's standalone net profit jumped 19.64% to Rs 151.44 crore in Q3 FY25 compared with Rs 126.58 crore posted in Q3 FY24.Total income increased 23.85% YoY to Rs 1,855.10 crore during the quarter. Global Markets: The US Dow Jones index futures were currently down by 57 points, signaling a weak opening for US stocks today. Most Asian stocks advanced on Monday following an 11% year-on-year increase in China's industrial profits for December. However, investors also focused on the unexpected contraction in China's factory activity growth, with the official purchasing managers' index for January coming in at 49.1. Former President Donald Trump decided to impose tariffs and sanctions on Colombia for hindering U.S. immigration policies. The dollar also edged higher as markets awaited the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision and key inflation data later this week. Trading in Asia may see heightened volatility as major markets prepare to shut mid-week for the Lunar New Year holiday. On Sunday, Trump announced sanctions and steep tariffs on Colombia after its President, Gustavo Petro, refused to allow U.S. repatriation flights carrying deported individuals to land. Trump declared an immediate 25% tariff on all Colombian imports, escalating to 50% next week. Additionally, the U.S. imposed a travel ban and revoked visas for Colombian officials and affiliates. U.S. stocks ended lower on Friday as investors digested mixed economic data and corporate earnings. Operating profit before provisions and contingencies jumped 28.18% to Rs 271.11 crore in Q3 FY25 as compared with Rs 211.51 crore in Q3 FY24. Provisions (other than tax) and contingencies stood at Rs 67.18 crore during the quarter, up 63.85% compared with Rs 41 crore posted in Q3 FY24. Net interest income (NII) stood at Rs 543 crore in Q3 FY25, up 14.56% as compared with Rs 474 crore in Q3 FY24. Net interest margin (NIM) stood at 3.30% in Q3 FY25 as against 3.48% in Q3 FY24. Net advances grew 22.67% year on year to Rs 47,780 crore in Q3 FY25. Deposits jumped 20.28% year on year to Rs 56,678 crore in Q3 FY24. Gross non-performing assets (NPA) slipped Rs 1,517.18 crore as on 31st December 2024 as compared with Rs 1,367.62 crore as on 31st December 2024. Gross NPA rose 3.11% in Q3 FY5 as compared with 3.43% in Q3 FY24. Net NPA was at 1.18% in Q3 FY25 as compared with 1.22% posted in the same quarter previous year. The provision coverage ratio (PCR) as on 31 December 2024 was at 7476% and PCR without considering gold loans NPAs was at 75.56%. Capital adequacy continues to be strong and as on 31st December 2024, the capital adequacy ratio was at 16.29% (with Tier I at 13.54% and Tier II at 2.75% as per basel III norms).
