According to company's project classification, these are major orders valued in the range of Rs 5,000 crore to Rs 10,000 crore. Larsen & Toubro has announced a Rs 500 crore ESG bond issuance deal, becoming the first Indian corporate to do so under the Securities and Exchange Board of India's (SEBI) newly introduced ESG and sustainability-linked bond framework. HSBC is acting as the sole lead arranger in this transaction. As part of the ESG Bond deal, L&T is committed to environmental targets, including a decrease in intensity of fresh water withdrawal and emissions of greenhouse gases. These initiatives are in line with the company's long-term sustainability goals of achieving water neutrality by 2035 and carbon neutrality by 2040. Metal shares rally after declining in the past two consecutive trading sessions. At 11:25 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex declined 443.70 points or 0.55% to 80,923.84. The Nifty 50 index fell 118.05 points or 0.47% to 24,600.40. In the broader market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index shed 0.15% and the S&P BSE Small-Cap index added 0.33%. The market breadth was positive. The Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) business vertical of L&T has secured significant orders from the Public Health Engineering Department of Rajasthan. According to the company's project classification, the orders are classified as 'Significant' ranging between Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore. It has won an EPC order for the Rajasthan Rural Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project ' Phase II, Package-1. The scope encompasses supply & installation of 5,251-km transmission and distribution pipelines, construction of 38 ground level reservoirs with an aggregate capacity of 40 ML, 20 pump houses and 132 overhead service reservoirs with an aggregate capacity of 25 ML. The project is aimed at meeting the demand for water in 285 villages and the towns of Surajgarh and Udaipurwati in Jhunjhunu district. Another project won by the business vertical pertains to strengthening and rehabilitation of the water supply system on the Kekri-Sarwar sector in Ajmer district. The scope of the project includes the supply & installation of 43-km transmission pipelines. Associated electromechanical, instrumentation, automation and SCADA works, 1 year defects liability period and 10 years operations & maintenance are also in the scope of both the projects. The value of the contract, according to L&T's internal classification, ranges between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 5,000 crore. The contract has been awarded by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) for the construction of Common Central Secretariat buildings 6 and 7 in New Delhi. The project includes two buildings with a configuration of one basement, two podiums, an upper ground level, and six floors. L&T's scope of work comprises the civil structure, finishes, associated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services, external development and five years of operation and maintenance. In another win, the B&F vertical has bagged a design and construction order from the Government of Andhra Pradesh for building the new State Legislative Assembly. The structure will feature one basement, a ground floor and three upper floors. The company said that both projects are to be executed within a stringent timeline of 18 months.
